Güllaç Recipe

Materials

  • 12 leaves of rosemary
  • 1.5 liters of milk
  • 2 cups sugar
  • ground walnuts
  • 2 tablespoons rose water (optional)

Preparation Of

To make Güllaç dessert; First of all, we heat the milk and sugar in a saucepan, let the sugar melt completely. At this stage, you do not need to heat the milk too much, it will be enough for the sugar to melt.
Then we leave the milk to cool at room temperature. If you have heated it in a way that will not burn your hands, you will not need to wait for it to warm up again. If the milk boils, your dessert will be dough, so it should be in a way that will not burn your hands.
We put the first one in a deep tray with the shiny part of the Güllaç leaf on top.
We pour a couple of ladles of milk on it so that it gets wet on all sides.
Let’s repeat the same process for the six gullaç leaves and after wetting the 6th floor, let’s sprinkle walnuts on this floor and spread the other Güllaç leaves by wetting them in the same way.
Add 2 tablespoons of rose water to the remaining sweetened milk and drizzle over the dessert. You should be careful that the rose water you use here is not a cosmetic product.
Let’s keep our prepared dessert in the refrigerator for about 2 hours.
After resting for at least 2-3 hours, you can decorate it and serve it. I garnished with powdered pistachios and candied cherries. Enjoy your meal.
