Red Velvet Cake Recipe


  • 1 finger missing from 3 glasses of flour (310gr.)
  • 1 heaping tablespoon of cocoa (16gr.)
  • 1 heaping teaspoon of baking powder (5gr.)
  • 1 heaping teaspoon of salt (5gr.)
  • 1 pack of vanilla
  • 1 cup diced soft butter (113gr.)
  • 1 finger missing granulated sugar from 2 glasses of water (300gr.)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 full and quarter glass of oil (220gr.)
  • 1 teaspoon of white vinegar (5 ml.)
  • 1 whole and quarter glass of milk (240gr.)
  • Red food coloring (to be added gradually)


  • 1 pack of Dr. Oetker baked pastry cream
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 1 pack of powdered whipped cream
  • Half a glass of cold milk

Preparation Of

Dry ingredients for cake batter are sieved into a bowl.
Butter and granulated sugar are whipped with a mixer. Add the eggs one at a time and continue beating. Add oil, milk, vinegar and mix.
Add the dry mixture slowly and mix it with a mixer.
The desired red color is obtained with the last food dye.
The base of 2 clamped thickets is covered with greaseproof paper.
The cake mortar is poured equally in two molds and the top is leveled.
25 minutes in the oven heated to 175 degrees. I cooked it (this time may vary. After 20 minutes, you can do a toothpick test, overcooking will not give a good result.)
The cakes are taken out of the oven, cooled and wrapped with cling film. Let it rest overnight in the refrigerator.

For the cream, pastry cream and milk are cooked in a saucepan, stirring constantly. It is covered with cling film and cooled.
In a separate place, whipped cream is whipped with half a glass of milk.
The pastry cream is mixed a little and softened. 1 spoon of whipped cream is added and softened.
And finally, whipped cream and pastry cream are combined and whipped with a mixer.
Half of the cream is spread between the cakes, the top cake is placed and the entire outside is covered with cream. The whole cake is decorated with crumbled cake chips.
It is rested in the cupboard and served.
