Uzbek Pilaf Recipe


  • 2 spoonful butter
  • 1 teacup of oil
  • 2 onions (chopped)
  • 5 medium carrots (grated)
  • 400 grams of minced lamb
  • 3 cups of rice
  • 4.5 – 5 glasses of hot water
  • 2 heads of garlic
  • Salt, cumin, black pepper

Preparation Of

First of all, oil and butter are melted in a rice cooker.
Add the chopped onions and fry until they become caramelized.
Cubed meat is added to the pot and roasted until the water is absorbed. If you wish, you can also boil the meat at this stage beforehand.
After the meat is absorbed and roasted, grated carrots are added and mixed.
When the carrots become soft, add the rice and fry for 3 more minutes.
Water, salt, cumin and black pepper are added and mixed.
Put 2 heads of garlic on the rice and press lightly.
Cover the pot and cook for 5 minutes on high heat and 10 minutes on low heat until it boils.
Then, a paper towel is placed on it and left to rest for 10-15 minutes, then it is served. Enjoy your meal.
